I was probably about 11 or 12 years old, it started with a little glitter and lip gloss here and there but within a year or so I was one of those who caked on the dream matte mousse with lots and lots of thick mascara on my lashes (poor things) and me and friends went through a stage of wearing lots of pink dazzle dust from Barry M with with eyeliner, oh gosh!
How did you get into makeup?
Well my mum wasn’t ever really into makeup but one of my older sisters were so i used to try hers (sneakily obviously!) and then when high school started and you’d look up to all the pretty older girls who wore makeup and it started from there to be honest.
What are some of your favourite brands?
NYX, Makeup revolution, MUA, Barry M and Sleek. I used to love Rimmel and swear by them but now I am going cruelty free with my makeup I wont be buying from them anymore! I shall miss it ALOT. 🙁
What does makeup mean to you?
Makeup means creating your personal style, just like with clothes and your hair you can be yourself and be who you want to be. It gives us confidence which is the main reason I wear it and you can create so many looks, it’s a never ending learning process too! Makeup does not mean hiding or coverig up it means enhancing the beauty that we already have. 🙂
If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
Concealer, mascara, winged eyeliner and a dark lipstick! 🙂
What’s your favourite thing about makeup?
Confidence. I lack confidence like a lot of us do, and I feel even with just a little concealer I look 100% better, my skin isn’t the best but I like to look more brighter and fresh and it makes me happier.
What do you think of Drugstore Vs. High end makeup?
They say you get what you pay for but personally I am a drugstore kinda girl. I know that alot of dupes are basically the same and sometimes better for a third of the price! If you got the money and want to spend it then fair enough, but I have a good collection of makeup from Boots and Superdrug and I love them all the same. 😀 Everyone to their own.
What is one tip you would give to a beginner?
Always make sure you get the right shade foundation and don’t have those awful foundation lines of the jaw (it’s the worst! Ugh) There are lots of tutorials on YouTube nowadays, they help alot and practice makes perfect! 😉
What is one makeup trend you’ve never understood?
All this ‘Eyebrows on Fleek’ haha! 😂
What do you think of the beauty community on YouTube?
I think it is great. It helps lots of people and it gives out so much advice and ideas and it’s not as easy at it looks. These YouTubers are skillful, hardworking people, it takes alot of times recordingx editing, creating content and actually getting views and I love it.
If anyone has done this also I would love to read it! 🙂
