I had been rocking silver hair for a few months now and I really love how it looks and originally I had lilac hair and it faded into a silvery colour and I loved it so much I decided to go for it for my next hair colour! I have recently changed my hair again so I wanted to make sure I get this post out there to help any people who want/have silver hair too and can take on my tips on how I acheive this look, or if you would just like to read about it! I know silver/grey hair is really in at the moment, just like pastel colours lots of people are now braving it and going for it and it is so nice to see other fellow hair crazy girls out there, I love it, go wild why not!:P
So originally I did use a the Jerome Russel B Blonde silver toner on my hair after the lilac had faded and my hair had gone back to my bleach blonde. *take note* the lighter your hair is the best results you will have on getting silver hair. I didn’t feel this did amazingly, so I then went and applied the silver toner from Directions which worked great! Don’t be frightened that the colour of the actual dye is bright blue haha! After I used that for a while, a girl that I worked with had gotten silver hair and I thought it looked better than mine so she recommended what she used and I have been using it ever since.
I use Fudge Shampoo and it’s around £12 which is a little more money but it is brilliant and a great sized bottle that has lasted me for ages. I did use it every time I washed my hair but after a few weeks it started to go a very silvery/purple colour and I didn’t want to be lilac again so I only use it every other time I wash my hair now. The other shampoo and conditioner I use is the Pro:voke silver shampoo and conditioner which keeps up the silver colour and knocks out any brassy yellow tones from the bleach blonde.
So that is pretty much it! I do enjoy having silver hair, as it goes with every colour outfit and I like how it looks on me and for that I am so glad I went this colour. I now have pink, purple and blue in my hair, I change my hair all the time and it’s one of my favourite things to do. 🙂
