On the rainy day that I had off of work yesterday, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to do a little baking! I love baking and haven’t baked in a few months so I was pretty excited! I went for a simple cupcake recipe and I decorated them with chocolate frosting which is delicious by the way and some white icing. Yummy! I also added a little food colouring to the mix, some pink and some orange which didn’t turn out great as I should’ve added a little more, live and learn ay 😛 I decorated it with some edible purple glitter and a few with popping candy too which is so cool, love that stuff.
- 200g Caster Sugar
- 200g Self raising flour
- 150g butter
- 125ml milk
- 2 eggs
- Icing sugar
- Chocolate frosting
- Decorations. Popping candy, edible glitter..
First off I mixed up the caster sugar and butter together before I added 1 egg at a time. Then mixed in the flour which will thicken it up.
Then bit by bit add some milk to form the more runny mixture that you need. I then split up the mixture to add some food colouring.
After I pre-heated the oven to 180’c and set out the paper cases onto a baking tray or cupcake tray (I couldn’t find ours?!) I then filled the cases to 3/4 the way full of mixture and popped them into the oven to bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown or until you think they are ready. Leave them to cool for 15-20 minutes before decorating other the icing will just melt and it will be a disaster, trust me I’ve been there, whoops..
And this is my final result, and they tasted pretty yummy too!
