I have been wanting to order a beauty box for a while now and I can now I am back to work, on my first pay check I made sure to subscribe to one and with lots of researching and reading reviews I decided to go for Birchbox! For those of you don’t know (even tho they are really popular now!) You can subscribe to a monthly subscription and Birchbox is £10 + £2.95 postage a month and you receive 5 deluxe beauty samples to fit your needs that you can edit on your online profile, which I think is really cool.
I was really impressed for my first Birchbox, which was the August one, the theme is Emoji’s and how cute is the box?! It also comes with a set of emoji stickers too which I just love!
Inside the box is a little cute toiletries bag with the products inside, this bag can really come in handy afterwards too, it also smells nice?! So, onto the products.
‘Elevate your complexion to centre stage when you put the spotlight on brow and cheekbones thanks to this award-winning highlighter’ This sounds like it will be great, I have always wanted to try something from Benefit, and as I need a new highlighter anyhow, this is a perfect little size to keep in my handbag or travel make-up bag! Just pop a few drops to where you want to on your face and blend away.
2 | Rituals | Fortune Scrub | £10
‘The uplifting formula is packed with Sweet Orange and Cedarwood to slough away dull skin and reveal fresh, beautifully-scented skin beneath’ This scrub smells sooo fresh and I am excited to use it tonight! It says on the tube to just use once or twice a week, by applying it to damp skin and massage in circular motions and wash away after.
3 | Huygens | Exfoliating Cream | £17.90
‘For A truly flawless base it’s important to slough away dead skin cells to prep your canvas’ I used this today and I really like how it makes my skin feel so I will definitely be getting lots of use out of this. It is an odd smell I can’t quite put to words, but I am loving this product already.
4 | Kebelo | Clarifying Shampoo | £13.95
‘When product build -up and styling stress have left your strands looking dull, this deep cleansing shampoo is set to be your hair care saviour’ As I have never used a clarifying shampoo before (so I am pretty excited) I think this is going to do wonders for my hair. It stated to only use once or twice a month so this good sized bottle will last a while. I have bleached and dyed hair so it needs all the help it can get! Looking forward to using this product.
5 | Laura Mercier | Kohl Eye Pencil in Black Violet | £17.50
‘Black liner is so last season – a true beauty junkie knows that a colourful cat eye is the only way to make your eyes pop!’ I am a huge lover of everything black, from clothes to make-up, but my favourite colour is purple of any shade so this black violet liner looks like my kind of product to try! You can either use it on your water line or eyelid for smudging for a more smokey look, which is what I will probably try out. 😛
Beauty Bonus! | Illamasqua | Hydra Veil | £32
‘We’ve all been there, you’ve carefully applied your make-up only to find that the result is a little…well…blah. No more!’ This is only a very small sample but I will probably be able to get a few applications out of this. It’s a lovely smooth re-hydrating gel, so it acts as a primer before you apply your foundation to the face. This is a pretty pricey primer than I would usually buy, so I can’t wait to try it out! 😉
That’s it for my August Birchbox! Overall I am really happy with it, and I can’t wait to try all the products out. I am already looking forward to next months! 😛
Use the code AMELIA for £5 off your first box! From the beautiful YouTuber AmeliaLiana, which you can use in the checkout this month to get your box cheaper like I did for myself, which is also fab! 😀
Are you subscribed to Birchbox? Have you used any of the products mentioned? I’d love to know so feel free to comment, I love talking to you all. 🙂
Thanks for reading guys! I hope you enjoyed this post of my first ever Beauty Box.
Until next time lovelies
